At the beginning of the year 2015, a cross flow dryer (CSec-T) and a solar greenhouse dryer (CSec-S) were installed and instrumented on the site of the ESP-UCAD in Dakar, Senegal.

The first experimental tests were conducted in early March 2015 by researchers and technicians of the ESP-UCAD with the support of a Cirad researcher (M. Rivier).

The first results confirmed the good energy performance of the cross flow dryer and showed a good ability and uniformity of drying with the solar greenhouse dryer. Further trials are held throughout the following months.

After validation, these dryers will be transferred to small business of fonio processing so tests can be prosecuted in real conditions during year 2015.
